The Andhra Pradesh Government has declared 234 mandals spread over 9 districts of the State as drought affected.
The Disaster Management Department of Andhra Pradesh today notified that during South-West monsoon (June 1, 2012 to September 30, 2012) during the kharif season, some districts had received deficit rainfall forcing the Government to declare them drought affected today.
A Government order was issued declaring these mandals as drought affected.
The Commissioner and Director of Agriculture and Commissioner of Horticulture Departments shall disburse input subsidy directly to the bank accounts of the farmers including those handling lands as tenant farmers, the order added.
