Nearly one-third of West Bengal's population has come under the ambit of Aadhaar.
According to P K Upadhyay, Assistant Director General, Ranchi Region, Unique Identificaion Authority of India, so far Aadhaar numbers for 2.53 crore people (about 30 per cent population) have been generated, of the 3.76 crore people enrolled in the State. He said that 70000-80000 people are being enrolled for UIDAI card every day in the State.
