The 9th edition of Coimbatore Vizha, a 10-day-long celebration of the city, is set to commence on January 27, 2017.
The inaugural event is planned at Brookefields Mall.
Renowned actor Srikanth would launch this year's festivities.
'Kovai Paatu', a musical tribute for Coimbatore city and the Mascot of the Coimbatore Vizha - 'Chippy', the emerald princess will be part of the celebration.
The event, organisers of past editions say, has made a positive difference to the city. Over 90 events have been planned this year by partnering various organisations at various locations throughout the city.
Coimbatore Vizha food festivals are being conducted at the Residency Towers, Vivanta by Taj Surya, Zone by the park, Radission blu, Le Meridien, Cream center, Gokulam Park and Pazhamudir outlets as well.
The celebration will include cultural and entertainment programmes.
