Legislators belonging to Telangana held placards demanding discussion on the Bill.
The House will meet at 9 a.m. tomorrow.
Earlier, the Telangana Rashtra Samiti (TRS) and Congress leaders belonging to Telangana have asked the Andhra Pradesh Assembly Speaker N. Manohar to resume the House and initiate discussion on the Andhra Pradesh Bifurcation Bill.
The House was adjourned twice following acrimonious scenes in the House and on the Assembly premises this morning after the draft Bill was introduced.
Legislators belonging to Seemandhra tore the Bill copies at the media point, triggering strong protests from Telangana leaders and members of Telangana journalists’ forum. The police intervened and managed to defuse the situation.
Seemandhra TDP leaders also stormed the Speaker’s chamber.
Addressing media later, TRS leader Harish Rao blamed the Telugu Desam Party for the ruckus.
He alleged that all the parties have agreed at the business advisory committee a few days ago to introduce the Bill. He said that the TDP was deceiving people from both regions.
Both Chief Minister Kiran Kumar Reddy and Opposition leader and TDP President N. Chandra Babu Naidu did not turn up for the session.
