Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Kiran Kumar Reddy has directed the Finance Department to release Rs 12 crore immediately towards silk yarn subsidy to weavers.

Each weaver will get subsidy of Rs 150 per kilo for 4 kg, a total amount of Rs 600 per family per month under this scheme.

This will be a much-needed relief to the weavers’ community, with about 43,000 families estimated to be benefited by this subsidy dose.

The decision follows a high-level review meeting on silk yarn subsidy chaired by the Chief Minister.
