The Andhra Pradesh Government has asked the Singapore Government to help it prepare a Master Plan for the construction of its capital. Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu had made this appeal during his three-day visit to the city nation last week. The Singapore Cabinet will discuss the proposal soon.

Addressing a press conference here on Sunday to brief the media on the highlights of his visit, he said the delegation had met up with representatives of over 200 companies to discuss the investment opportunities in the new State. The list included SIA, Sembcorp, Ascendas, Jurong and Temasek, he said.

He said a joint working group would be set up soon to promote business and government relations. The Global School Foundation of Singapore agreed to help the State Government in preparing its education policy and establishing a model school in the State.

On the issue of construction of a capital city near Vijayawada, the Chief Minister said he would meet the farmers in Tullur on Tuesday to discuss the issue. “Farmers are willing to support the Government in constructing the capital,” he said.
