Academics say B-schools must innovate constantly

Business schools should innovate constantly, according to Satinder Dhiman, MBA Director and Chair of School of Business, Woodbury University, the US.

He said this while inaugurating the fourth international conference on ‘Management Education’ at Justice KS Hegde Institute of Management at Nitte in Udupi.

He said that from admission to curriculum development, business schools should follow the learner-centred approach. Speaking on the occasion, Michael Page, Provost and Vice-President for Academic Affairs of Bentley University, the US, said business schools should satisfy the needs of society. He also released the 16th Issue of Nitte Management Review (a research journal of the institute).

Dianne Lynne Bevelander, Professor of Management Education Rotterdam School of Management, The Netherlands, said that almost all over the world due to the male-dominated system of management education, there are not many women in business schools.

N Vinay Hegde, Chancellor of Nitte University, who presided over the function, said that management education is for life and social wellbeing should be the main goal of management education, he said. A press release said here that NK Thingalaya, chairman of the academic council of the institute, and K Sankaran, Director of the institute, were present on the ocassion.
