Union Oil and Petroleum Minister Veerappa Moily has said that cargo operations can be now undertaken at Mangalore airport. In a press release here, he said the Cabinet had approved Mangalore airport as international airport for the purpose of unloading and loading of baggage. Following this, he had taken up the matter with CBEC (Central Board of Excise and Customs), under the Ministry of Finance. The CBEC had notified Mangalore airport as international airport for the purpose of cargo complex in its notification dated January 31. “With this air cargo operations can now be undertaken at Mangalore airport,” he said in a press release here.
