All India Radio which has been playing a pivotal role in the preservation and propagation of Indian Classical Music — Hindustani and Carnatic music — has chosen 30 different venues across India to host these concerts on September 28.
According to Milansar Ahmed, Programme Head, AIR, Bangalore, Dr B. Arundhati of Trivandrum will present a Carnatic Vocal Concert, followed by a Mridanga Layavinyasa by maestro Parassala Ravi of Kochi.
Dr Kamala Shankar of Varanasi will present a Hindustani Guitar recital.
These concerts will be held in Ravindra Kalakshetra in Bangalore from 6 p.m. Entry is free.
