Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu on Tuesday said his Government will come out with white papers on finance, human resources development, infrastructure, agriculture and power sectors and thereafter follow up with an action plan to address them sector wise.
Addressing a press conference here today evening, he said these white papers will give people an idea about the current state of affairs of Seemandhra (Andhra Pradesh) and show how this region has been wronged by enforcing the division.
“We are now in crisis. The challenge is to convert this crisis into opportunity. I am confident of bringing about a turnaround,” he said.
After a detailed review of the State of affairs with senior bureaucrats, he said that the 10 years of Congress rule shows that the administration was thoroughly mismanaged. There was lack of governance leading to lopsided development. Corruption has ruined institutions and the image of the State and has deterred investing community. There was no prioritisation of issues.
The financial and power sectors are is a state of mess. The industrial sector has been impacted due to inadequate supply. The per capita income and growth rate have been affected. All these sectors need to be brought to growth path. Therefore, the Government will come out with a development agenda within 100 days, he said.
Referring to the Vision 2020 document he had prepared during his tenure as the Chief Minister, he said it would be revisited and redrawn keeping in view the current issues focussing on new growth agenda.
Given the current financial crisis facing the State, it is now a matter that the Centre needs to look at seriously and come out and support till the situation returns to normalcy.
Referring to corruption related issues, he said the government would revisit them and if required institute enquiries into them.
Naidu said the first Cabinet meeting would be held at Vizag and the first session of the State Assembly convened on June 19.
The Government would come out with white papers after the current Assembly session and possibly before the Budget session.
The focus of the first Cabinet meeting slated for Thursday will be on the new Government agenda and the five important files that Naidu signed after the swearing in ceremony at Guntur on Sunday.
