There is a growing fascination with luxury cars in the country, AP and Telangana in particular, and Audi foresees a bright future in both the States after bifurcation, according to A Suresh Kumar, the General Manager (Operations) in charge of both the States.
After launching the Audi A3 sedan here on Thursday priced at ₹23.59 lakh onwards (ex-showroom), he said the luxury car segment was growing at four to five per cent in the country. He said the trade expected it to gain further momentum in the last two quarters of the current financial year. He said both AP and Telangana will grow at a rapid pace after bifurcation as there would be heavy investments and therefore the market for luxury cars would grow.
Audi sold 1,717 cars (till July 31) in Telangana and AP put together, of which 110 were plying on the roads of Visakhapatnam. “We are expecting to sell 100 cars during the first year of our operations here. The focus is on marketing various variants in the rural areas among agriculturists, real estate dealers and politicians,” he said.
