Portals of the famous Himalayan shrine of Badrinath will be closed for the pilgrims from November 18 in the wake of winter season.
The doors of the shrine, which is part of the famous Char Dham pilgrimage, will be closed at 3.25 p.m, chief executive officer B D Singh said.
Portals of another Char Dham shrine Kedarnath will be closed from November 15 on the day of Bhai Duj.
The four Char Dham shrines in the state —— Gangotri, Yamunotri, Kedarnath and Badrinath —— are closed around this time of the year as the area remains covered under snow during winter.
The shrines reopen with the advent of summers.
