The West Bengal State Election Commission has met district magistrates and superintendents of police of nine districts to discuss the districts’ readiness to go for polls.
According to sources, the meeting also discussed the law and order situation in these districts.

The meeting, held on Saturday, comes a day after the State Government informed the Commission of dates for holding a three-phase panchayat polls and division of districts.
SEC spoke with the administrative and police chiefs of those districts on security arrangements during the polls, sources added.
