In a move to prevent illegal sex determination tests, the collector of Bikaner on Saturday suggested all sonography centres in the district to install CCTV cameras in order to identify patients visiting the centres.
Chairing a meeting of doctors and sonography centre owners here, district collector Arti Dogra today asked them to install CCTV cameras so that they have the patient’s picture along with the other documents. She said that stern action will be taken against any sonography centre found indulging in illegal activity.
Dogra directed them to complete all the requisite formalities before conducting the ultra-sonography and warned them against violating the Pre-Natal diagnostic Techniques Act.
