The IT units here are back to normal after the cyclone devastation a fortnight ago.
There are some problems like assured bandwidth connectivity and stable power supply to some units, but this has not stopped many from resuming operations, representatives from nearly all IT and ITeS units in the city said at an interactive session organised by the APIIC here on Tuesday.
APIIC Chairman P Krishnaiah, IT Advisor to State Government J Satyanarayana, Development Commissioner, VSEZ S Kishore and Joint Director STPI MP Dubey participated in the meet.
IT Advisor Satyanarayana said he would suggest to the State Government to establish a calamity-proof facility which would help ensure business continuity for IT companies. APIIC Chairman promised to take up the issue of stable bandwidth with the Internet service providers and get it addressed.
Responding to suggestions from the industry representatives, Satyanarayana said that he would try and organise events for IT sector of global interest in the city to get more IT companies to visit and invest here. The APIIC Chairman said that he would push forward the proposal for underground power cables.
