The Energy and Resources Institute and United Technologies Corporation have launched the Centre of Excellence for Energy Efficient Buildings in India, at a time the government is working towards finalising the blueprint for 100 smart cities. The Centre will work towards development of an energy use reporting framework for existing buildings, evaluation of the existing building energy rating system, derivation of tool and techniques for energy management and real time reporting of consumption, among others.
