International cinema exhibitor Cinépolis has launched a 15-screen multiplex at Magarpatta City in Pune.
The cinema that will also have three Cinépolis VIP screens will be able to screen 80 shows a day. It will bring together 100 per cent digital technology, RealD, the world’s best 3D technology, Hollywood standard 4k digital screens and 7.1 Dolby digital audio.
Javier Sotomayor, Managing Director, Cinépolis India, said, “We are very excited to introduce the megaplex culture in India along with Cinépolis VIP. We introduced the International movie experience in India and are now launching other global trends to evolve the exhibition industry here.”
The Pune cinema is the company’s second multiplex in Maharashtra this year. Started in 2009, Cinepolis currently operates 79 screens across India in Ahmedabad, Amritsar, Bangalore, Bhopal, Hubli, Jaipur, Ludhiana, Mangalore, Mumbai, Patna, Pune, Surat, and Thane.
