The Mexico-based cinema chain Cinepolis has announced the launch of its five-screen multiplex in Mangalore.
A press release by Cinepolis said here on Saturday that the multiplex has a capacity of 1,233 seats. After Bangalore, Mangalore is the second Cinepolis multiplex in Karnataka, it said.
For the first few weeks, Cinepolis will offer special introductory prices starting at Rs 80 for normal seats and Rs 130 for VIP seats, the release said.
Cinepolis currently operates in Ahmedabad, Amritsar, Bangalore, Patna, Surat, Ludhiana and Bhopal.
Cinepolis India is a wholly owned subsidiary of the Cinepolis. The company started its operations in India in 2009 at Amritsar.
The release said that with the addition of Mangalore, Cinepolis India now stands at a total of 49 screens. The company has plans of rolling out 500 screens by 2016, it added.
