Andhra Pradesh Industrial Infrastructure Corporation (APIIC) will develop an exclusive industrial park for women entrepreneurs, according to its Managing Director Jayesh Ranjan.

Speaking at a function to mark the change of guard at the FICCI Ladies Organisation (FLO) here, he said a 50-acre plot at Sultanpur, Patancheru was set aside for the purpose.

The APIIC and FLO would team up in promoting entrepreneurship among women in this proposed park. “FLO has agreed to provide software support for women in this park,’’ the official said.

On the business opportunities for women, he said there was a long way to go. “Out of 29,400 industrial plots, developed by APIIC till date, only 1,380 were given to women. This is fair reflection of what is happening outside as well,’’ Ranjan said.

The ensuing State bifurcation would also open up opportunities for women and they should take advantage of incentives/concessions to be lined up by the Government in the two States to be created, he added.

The new team members for FLO, Hyderabad Monika Agarwal (Chairperson), Rekha Lahoti (Senior Vice-Chairperson) and Mansi Malik (Secretary) assumed charge.
