Sameer Nair, former CEO of Star TV and NDTV Imagine, and an independent media entrepreneur at present, has joined the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP). The fledgling AAP is entering the fray in the Delhi Assembly elections slated for early December.

According to an AAP release, Nair, who is based in Mumbai, will support its campaign in Delhi.

Various recent poll surveys have forecast that, AAP, led by anti-graft activist Arvind Kejriwal, is expected to make some dent in the votes of the two main contenders, Congress and BJP, in the State, which at present is ruled by the former.

"Like many media professionals in Mumbai, I am also a supporter of Jan Lokpal and now AAP. I am here to offer my expertise to AAP in whatever way possible to bring the change in our society. In fact, a lot of my friends are ready to contribute in AAP's communication work free of cost," said Sameer Nair in the release.

AAP, which said many volunteers had left their jobs in India and abroad to support it, welcomed Nair and appealed to people from across India to come to Delhi, if possible, to support what it claims as a ‘political revolution’ to clean up the system from corruption.
