Hiring in Hyderabad goes up in September

There is good news on the job front in Hyderabad. Hiring in the city has gone up by about 2 per cent in September this year compared with last year.

Compared with August this year, recruitment showed 3 per cent increase, according to The Naukri Job Speak Index of Hyderabad.

The most prominent sector, Information Technology Enabled Services, registered an increase of 7 per cent in hiring in September 2013 over August 2013 and the sector was one of the best performers with 43 per cent rise in hiring on a year-on-year basis.

The IT software industry was stable compared with the previous month.

When compared to the same period a year back, it gave 12 per cent more jobs in September 13.

Commenting on the trend, Ambarish Raghuvanshi, Group President Finance and CFO Info Edge (India) Ltd said, “Amid the period of slowdown and the downward movement of the rupee, the job market has improved marginally.”

Pharma

Hiring in few important sectors such as insurance, pharma and oil and gas had gone down in the period under study.

Insurance, pharma and oil and gas also witnessed a dip in hiring on sequential basis.

But on an annual basis, recruitment in the pharma sector had gone up by 7 per cent, according to a release.
