Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe is expected to participate in the three-day ‘partnership summit’ to be held here from January 27 to 29.

The 20th annual edition of the summit is being jointly organised by the Union Commerce Ministry's Department of Industrial Policy and Promotion, the State government and the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII).

The theme of the event is ‘Emerging global value chains: Building partnerships.’ It is aimed at bringing together business leaders, investors, corporations, thought leaders, policy and opinion makers under one platform to attract more investors.

Several foreign delegates are also expected to attend the event.

“While the country's growth has slowed down over the past year, Karnataka still remains as one of the most attractive destinations for business and offers ample opportunities for investors,” a press release from the State government said.
