Cyclone Hudhud, which hit Visakhapatnam district a month ago, caused extensive damage to the track on the Kothavalasa-Kirandul (K-K) rail line at 45 locations between Boddavara and Gorapur stations but the railway authorities and staff have managed to restore traffic on the line in less than a month, according to a press release issued by the East Coast Railway. The first goods train passed on November 9. Visakhapatnam-Kirandul passenger was being operated up to Jagdalpur with effect from Tuesday and Kirandul-Visakhapatnam passenger from Jagdalpur with effect from Wednesday.
