There is a need for undertaking more product-based innovation in information technology, according to Telangana Minister for IT, KT Rama Rao.
Speaking at the inauguration of the second annual developers’ conference organised by Pegasystems here on Sunday, the minister said India was recognised and respected all around the world for its programming skills, coding skills, etc.
“But we are not content with that and we should not be. We are not just the back office function and have to move up the value chain,” he said. While stating that it was a priority for the State Government to encourage entrepreneurship and industry, he said the Government had initiated a host of measures recently including a special initiative for skill development.
New academyTelangana Government in association with the industry and academia has launched Telangana Academy of Skill and Knowledge. “The main aim of this academy would be make all the students industry ready, employment ready by the time they pass their graduation,” he said.
Suman Reddy, Managing Director, Pegasystems India said the two-day event was an opportunity for all developers not only to be part of Pega’s fast-growing ecosystem, but also to get familiar with Pega technology.
