The P Kotaiah Committee on crop loan reschedule and waiver has submitted its final report to Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister, N Chandrababu Naidu.
The committee headed by P Kotaiah, former chairman of Nabard, in its recommendations for crop loan rejig has suggested having a cap of Rs 1.5 lakh for crop loans and Rs 50,000 for gold loans.
It has recommended a cap on relief of one per family.
Among other measures, the committee has suggested issue of bonds to facilitate the process.
The State Cabinet meet, which is underway, will finalise the modalities based on the report and as per RBI norms.
The Cabinet meeting is expected to discuss the recent communication from RBI on crop loans and its reschedule terms and take a decision on the modalities for its implementation.
The State Finance Ministry is considering offering bonds to raise funds and part-meet the resources to support the crop reschedule.
The Cabinet is also expected to discuss new policy initiatives of the Government.
