The 52nd National Premier Chess Championship 2014 will be held at CMS College here from December 4 to 18, Thiruvanchoor Radhakrishnan, Minister for Sports, Cinema, Forest and Transport, has said.
The championship will decide the Indian teams for the Asian and world championships. The championship is organised by CMS College and Kottayam Chess Academy.
Principal Roy Sam Daniel said the event would form part of the bicentennial anniversary celebrations of the college. There are 14 players and the price money is ₹10 lakh.
