With BJP and Telugu Desam Party refusing to give clarity on alliance, Lok Satta Party (LSP) has decided to go it alone in the ensuing general elections. LSP National President Jayaprakash Narayan will contest from Malkajgiri Lok Sabha constituency. He will file nomination papers on April 7.
Addressing a press conference here on Saturday, LSP State President Katari Srinivasa Rao said the party will contest in about 65 Assembly constituencies and 6-7 Lok Sabha constituencies in the Telangana region. The list for the residual Andhra Pradesh will be announced a few days later.
The LSP, which announced a likely tie up with BJP and TDP, has taken a tough stand on Saturday, with the two parties keeping mum on the number of seats they would allot to it. With the deadline for filing nominations coming to an end in Telangana, the party has taken a call to go it alone.
It, however, said that it is still open for talks if they (BJP and TDP) came forward to discuss on the basis of party’s agenda.
