Madurai District Tiny and Small Scale Industries Association (Maditssia) will be staging a dharna in front of the Parliament on December 11 to press for a solution to the power cut problem which has been extended to 16 hours in Tamil Nadu.
Maditssia will also suggest a slew of measures to the Central Government. In a statement, V. S. Manimaran, President of the association, said the power shortage has resulted in lower productivity of the micro, small and medium enterprises and closure of the units.
The Centre has allotted only 10 per cent of power from the Central Grid. The coal shortage has accentuated the problem.
