Mahindra Group commits Rs 2 cr for drought relief in Maharashtra

The Mahindra Group has committed Rs 2 crore to the Maharashtra Government to provide relief to those affected by drought in the State.

Maharashtra is facing a severe drought, with 15 districts and over 11,000 towns adversely affected by the lack of water and fodder for cattle.

While Rs 1 crore has been contributed to the Chief Minister’s Drought Relief Fund by the company, the balance amount will be spent by the company on integrated drought resistance programmes within Maharashtra.

The programmes will involve water storage issues and agricultural practices, the company said. Bharat Doshi, Executive Director and Group CFO, M&M, and Rajeev Dubey, President, Group HR, met up with Chief Minister Prithviraj Chavanto hand over the cheque.
