Company managements and trade unions need to work together to resolve issues and maintain healthy relations, said Vijay Sankar, Deputy Chairman, Sanmar Group.
Labour reforms
The Government should bring in labour reforms for faster economic growth and employment generation, he said addressing the Annual General Meeting of the Employers’ Federation of Southern India, which focuses on issues relating to industrial relations, labour policy, and labour legislation. A press release from the Employers Federation, quoting Sankar, said, training and skill development will help the youth channel their energy and contribute to economic growth.
The new generation employees have their own aspirations, and organisations need to integrate them through continuous communication.
The Tamil Nadu Governor, K. Rosaiah, the Chief Guest, emphasised the need for compliance with statutory provisions to reduce employee disaffection.
The Governor urged the Federation to expand its initiative in the area of skill development.
