A mini passport seva kendra will come at Puducherry in 2-3 months, according to C Senthil Nathan, Regional Passport Officer, Chennai.
Puducherry government has allotted additional accommodation in an existing building where a passport assistance centre is functioning, he told newspersons.
RPO, Chennai, is in charge of Tamil Nadu and Puducherry.
At present, three passport seva kendras are functioning at Saligramam, Aminjikarai and Tambaram. These centres in Chennai are extended arms of the RPO, he said.
Nathan said about 11.70 lakhs of passport services have been processed so far under the new system that started functioning from September 2011, he said.
