Exactly two years after the first Kochi-Muziris Biennale, the country’s first such contemporary arts show, the second edition will open on December 12 next year.
The first Kochi-Muziris Biennale (KMB), which ran for more than three months, opened on 12.12.2012. The KMB functionaries announced the dates even as work on the next edition is under way at the Fort Kochi area.
Jitish Kallat, curator of the 2014 biennale, on Thursday inaugurated the ‘Pepper House Residency’ programme. The programme will invite artists from all artistic disciplines to live, work, and collaborate at their pace at Pepper House studio.
The residency aims to create a dialogue between locals, artists and institutions, offering them an opportunity to establish relationships in the local community while also serving as a platform to explore their creative potentials. The programme is part of the preparations for the next biennale.
