PM, Sonia, Rahul to visit poll-bound Rajasthan

Top Congress leaders including President Sonia Gandhi, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and party Vice-President Rahul Gandhi will visit poll-bound Rajasthan this month to attend foundation-laying ceremonies of various projects and address political rallies.

The leaders will address rallies in Barmer, Bhilwara, Kishangarh (Ajmer) and Baran districts from September 17 to 22, state PCC Chief Chandrabhan said today.

Sonia will lay the foundation stone of ambitious oil refinery and petrochemical complex project in Barmer’s Pachpadra, and that of mainline electric multiple unit (MEMU) coach factory in Gulabpura town of Bhilwara on September 22.

The 9 MT refinery is being jointly set up by the HPCL and the State Government, whereas the MEMU coach factory, a project of the Railways, will be set up by BHEL.

Mass meetings will be held on the same day after the inauguration ceremonies in both the districts.

On September 21, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh will lay foundation stone of the Airport at Kishangarh in Ajmer district.

Rahul will visit Kota division on September 17 to lay the foundation stone of Chhabra Super Critical Power Plant, Chandrabhan said.
