The four-day International Exposition on Plastics concluded here on Tuesday, registering business worth $ 150 million.

Anil Reddy, Convenor of the exposition, said the amount of business transacted had surpassed their expectations. “Initially, we had expected business worth $ 100 million to be transacted, going by the participation of overseas exhibitors. But we cross $ 150 million,” he said.

The organisers estimated that the number of footfalls during the four-day event was about 25,000. More than 250 exhibitors from India and overseas showcased their products and machinery for manufacture of plastic products.

International exhibitors such as Shubham Extrusion, Borouge India Ltd, Jonwai Machinvery Works Co. Ltd, Kabra Extrusion Technik Ltd, Prasad Group of Companies, Rajoo Engineers Ltd, Reifenhauser (India) Marketing Ltd, Simcheng Plastics Machinery Co and Sos-Esm Greoup exhibited their machinery for the first time in a regional conference.

The machines that were sold fully included layer machines and injection moulding machines used in flexible packaging.

It was decided that the next edition of the exposition will be rolled out in Bangalore in September 2015.
