Chambers in the city have appealed to the Tamil Nadu Government to introduce a new Samadhan Scheme to augment tax revenue to the State.
N Jegatheesan, President of Tamil Nadu Chamber of Commerce and Industry as well as S Rethinavelu, President of Agrofood (India) Chamber of Commerce and Industry along with other office-bearers met K Rajaraman, Commissioner of Commercial Taxes, in the city recently. They submitted a memorandum consisting of demands and suggestions, saying that the scheme may cover all TNGST and TN VAT arrears up to 2013-2014, luxury tax & entertainment tax arrears and may also appeal pending cases including State appeals and enforcement of commercial taxes.
The memorandum included demands on gross verification and mismatch report, dos and don’ts for enforcement officials, introduction of Goods and Services Tax, filing of form G, refund orders for earlier years, appointment of sufficient number of appeal officers and rectification of technical snags in filing returns etc.
