Portable fibre extractor developed

National Coir Research Management Institute here has developed a portable machine for extracting high-quality fibres from coconut husk at lower costs.

The FEE 6.0C2 fibre extraction machine marks an improvement on the mini de-fibering unit that the institute has developed and patented already.

The updated version has built-in crusher that processes full green and dry husk. It eliminates the need for any manual labour also reduces breakage to yield longer fibres.

Adoor Prakash, Minister for Revenue and Coir, will commission the machine on Thursday.
