With 45 lakh acres of agricultural land being under drought following scanty rainfall in the State, the Jharkhand Government would spend Rs 410 crore to alleviate the plight of the farmers. About Rs 150 crore would be spent towards diesel subsidy, Rs 240 crore as interest-free loans and Rs 20 crore for purchase of seeds for the farmers, an official release said here on Monday.
The decision was taken at a high-level meeting chaired by the Chief Minister, Mr Arjun Munda, on Sunday.
