The West Bengal State Election Commission may move the Calcutta High Court again on Tuesday to seek its suggestion on the security arrangement by the State Government during the upcoming panchayat polls.
According to a lawyer appearing on behalf of the poll panel, SEC served a notice to the State Government in this regard and the matter would be taken up before the Court on Tuesday.
Earlier in the day, State Election Commissioner Mira Pande said that the Commission has sent a letter to the State seeking details of the security deployments.
Meanwhile, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee expressed the State’s “inability” to provide 1.4 lakh security personnel sought for the first phase of the rural polls.
