Several districts in Telangana are under the grip of severe cold waves as temperatures decreased to 4-9 degrees Celsius in some parts of the State.
Adilabad has recorded the lowest temperature of 4 degrees Celsius on Friday, followed by Medak, Nizamabad and Karimnagar with 9 degrees Celsius.
B R Meena, Commissioner for Disaster Management (Telangana), has said that temperatures might further go down in the next few days.
"The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast that the cold wave conditions would prevail in Adilabad, Karimnagar, Nizamabad, Medak, Ranga Reddy and Hyderabad districts in the next three days," Meena has said here on Saturday.
He said the Government would take up a campaign to educate the people on the safeguards to be taken in view of cold weather conditions.
