Nara Chandrababu Naidu, K Chandrasekhara Rao and YS Jaganmohan Reddy, all Chief Minister candidates in Andhra Pradesh registered impressive victories on their home turf in the Legislative Assembly elections held in Andhra Pradesh.
On the contrary, the Congress aspirants like Ponnala Lakshmaiah, N Raghuveera Reddy both Pradesh Congress Chiefs and outgoing Deputy Chief Minister Damodar Rajanarasimha were forced to eat humble pie.
Naidu retained his Kuppam seat in Chittoor, while KCR scored stunning victories in Gajwel Assembly and Medak Parliamentary seats as well. Both of them are firmly in line to take up the chief minister mantle in the to be formed Telangana State and residuary Andhra Pradesh on June 2, as their parties- - TDP, BJP alliance and TRS have got a clear mandate.
It was disappointment for YS Jagan, whose tireless campaign for the power, inheriting the mantle of YS Rajasekhara Reddy (CM between 2004 and 2009) in Seemandhra fell short. He managed to win in his pocket the Pulivendula Assembly.
