Telangana State Level Banking Committee has asked any household in the State to open a bank account in any bank by December 27.
This direction is in tune with the Prime Minister’s Jan Dhan Yojana programme that aims at covering all households with at least one bank account.
The committee said that as per information received from the ten districts in the State, all households have been covered. “As such to declare the State of Telangana as saturated by December 27, if any household is not having bank account, they are requested to approach the nearest branch of any bank of Bank Mithra and open an account. If no grievance is received by that date, it will be deemed at all the households are having at least one bank account,” it said in a statement.
