Texvalley’s weekly market with world class amenities at Erode is to be thrown open on August 31.
Located on the Salem-Coimbatore National Highway, this integrated wholesale textile centre has been proposed on 16.5 lakh sq ft land dedicated for trading — with four lakh sq ft space for weekly market, 11.5 lakh sq ft area for the main mall and one lakh sq ft space for an international convention centre.
The four-lakh sq ft space with four phases has been designed to accommodate 4,000 market traders week-on-week.
The weekly market will be operational from Monday 6 am to Tuesday 10 am every week, R Jeyamohan, Project Management Consultant to the Ministry of Textiles, Government of India said.
Thoppu ND Venkatachalam, Environment Minister, Government of Tamil Nadu will inaugurate the weekly market.
The project is among the two powerloom clusters that were accorded sanction by the Central Government under the Comprehensive Powerloom Cluster Development Scheme of the Ministry of Textiles.
