An earthquake of moderate intensity rocked the Nicobar Islands in the wee hours today.
The quake, measuring 4.7 on the Richter scale, had its epicentre at latitude 7.8degreesN and longitude 94.6degreesE, a bulletin from the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said.
There were no immediate reports of any casualty in the area.
