Vintage car lovers are in for a treat with the Madras Heritage Motoring Club organising a heritage car rally on August 24.
The MyTVS Heritage Car Rally of the classic and vintage car and bike club will have cars from the 1920s to the 1960s participating. The event coincides with the Madras Week Celebrations, marking the 375{+t}{+h} year of the founding of Chennai city.
A wide selection of cars was on display on Sunday at Taj Connemara hotel, which is associated with the event. MyTVS has sponsored the annual event, which is in its 10{+t}{+h} edition.
Balraj Vasudevan, President of the Motoring Club, said the club, which was started a decade ago with three members, now has over 100 members, who own over 150 cars. One of the oldest cars in the event will be a 1927 Austin Chummy. Some of the legendary names include Plymouth, Dodge, Studebaker and Essex.
The rally will be flagged off from Don Bosco School, in Egmore.
