Reacting to the arrests made in connection with the leakage of documents from the Petroleum Ministry, the AAP has sought a thorough and independent probe to “bring out the truth and nail the culprits.”

“Media reports also suggest that classified papers from the Coal and Power Ministries have also been recovered from the possession of the accused. It clearly shows that the nexus is deeper than it looks at this point and many more people seem to be involved,” the party said in a release, alleging that the Modi government “seems to be brushing the matter under the carpet by making some lower-ranking employees and go-between scapegoats.”

AAP said the investigation so far defied “basic logic” as the police has failed to identify the end beneficiaries. “The Aam Aadmi Party sincerely hopes that the culprits, who subverted the system to get undue benefits, will be booked and interrogated in custody,” it added.

The party also demanded that the Centre not allow the mighty and powerful accused to influence the probe.
