With AAP inching closer to a landslide victory in the Delhi Assembly polls, Trinamool Congress chief Mamata Banerjee today termed it as a “turning point” in India’s current political landscape and a big defeat for those indulging in vendetta politics.
“This is a victory for the people and a big defeat for the arrogant and those who are doing political vendetta & spreading hate among people,” the West Bengal Chief Minister tweeted.
In another tweet, she said, “Delhi elections is turning point of present political situation. Shows political vendetta has no place in a democracy. Country needed this change.”
She also congratulated Delhi voters, AAP workers and leaders for their big victory. “Well done to you. All my best wishes. We are very happy,” she said.
“My hearty congratulations to AAP for sweeping Delhi Elections. All the best @ArvindKejriwal the new CM,” she said in another tweet.
Two days ahead of polls, she had requested voters in Delhi to vote for AAP “for the greater need of the country and development of Delhi“.
Aam Aadmi Party was on course to script history as the party was headed towards a landslide victory with a lead in a staggering 59 seats out of 70 seats while its nearest rival BJP was ahead in 10 seats.
