National Conference leader and Union Minister Farooq Abdullah has said that he is afraid of ‘enemy within the country than outside.’
“I am sad Afzal Guru should have died without being able to say goodbye to the people he loved,” he said at a function here.
But that should not mean that one can ‘play it up’ and put to jeopardy hard-earned freedom and status as one nation.
“Afzal Guru was given a trial but he lost it. His mercy petition to the President too was turned down.”
The Union Minister said this while inaugurating Kerala’s rooftop solar plant programme on Monday.
Abdullah gave a passionate call for unity and togetherness and not to give in to designs of people with a divisive agenda.
He advised the media to be careful while dealing with sensitive issues.
