Akshaya launches luxury residential project on OMR

The Chennai-based real estate developer Akshaya has launched the Tango, a 250-apartment luxury residential project at Thoraipakkam, on the Old Mahabalipuram Road.

Set on a nearly four-acre plot about 4 km from Adyar, the project also includes a commercial block with retail and hospitality space.

T Chitty Babu, Chairman and CEO, Akshaya Pvt Ltd, said Tango will be launched this weekend with a three-day ‘sales marathon’ from Friday at a special price of ₹8,000 a sq ft for the apartments of 676 sq ft to 2,355 sq ft. The price will be hiked to ₹8,500 a sq ft after the three-day sale. The apartment prices range from about ₹1 crore to over ₹2 crore.

He told media persons the two-bedroom and three-bedroom apartments will be spread across three towers of 13 floors each. The commercial block of 10 floors will have a 40-unit serviced apartment project, club house, office, entertainment and retail space.

Modern amenities The project includes modern amenities such as backup power, gym, swimming pool and landscaped space.

Tango will be Crisil star rated.

Chitty Babu said the company is in the process of identifying an operator to run the serviced apartments. It has a total of over 200 units distributed across three projects. It is in advanced stage of signing up with operators for its earlier projects, he said.
