Andhra Pradesh Chief Secretary IYR Krishna Rao has sought to address issues relating to several upcoming and proposed projects including cement companies, Hero Moto-Corp, BEL and Airbus units.
The Chief Secretary conducted a meeting with Principal Secretaries of departments concerned on cement Industries in Kurnool district, Hero Moto-Corp, Coastal Corridors, Sri Chakra Cements and the Railways on Monday at the Secretariat.
During the meeting, the Chief Secretary reviewed the mining licences issued a decade ago to Ramco Cements, Ultra Tech Cements and Prism Cements.
While there is potential for 30 mt capacity cement plants, so far 10 mt mining licences have been issued to Prism, Ultra Tech and Ramco Cement companies.
For these projects to come up there, the main considerations of water supply and railway line, and other infrastructure issues were discussed.
It was decided to explore the possibilities of laying a pipeline and constructing a reservoir for supply of water to the companies to be set up through the Owk reservoir.
The reservoir here gets filled up with flood water in monsoon season.
The Chief Secretary issued instructions to the Irrigation Department officials to take up a detailed study in one month and come up with project report and financial implications.
The Chief Secretary also reviewed issues relating to the railway line between Sanjamala and Kolimiguntla in Kurnool district required for cement projects.
The District Collectors of Chittoor and Anantapur were asked to allot land for Bharat Electronics Limited, National Academy of Customs and Central Excise and Airbus projects.
He instructed the Collector of Anantapur to hand over land already in his possession to the proposed industries.
INDUSTRIAL CORRIDORS
The Industrial Corridor between Vizag-Chennai and Chennai–Bangalore was reviewed and the details of projects taken up along with the Donakonda cluster and the route linkages for Industrial Estates to pose them to the ADB for funding.
