The Budget session of Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly is expected to commence on March 5.
State Finance Minister Yanamala Ramakrishnudu is expected to present the State Budget for 2016-17 on March 10 and the session may last till the month end.
The move to host the Budget Session from March 5 was announced by the State finance minister during the district Collectors’ Conference in Vijayawada. On the same day, the State Agriculture Minister P. Pulla Rao will present a separate Agriculture Budget.
Though it was initially speculated that the Budget session would be held near Vijayawada, it was decided that the current session would be held in Hyderabad. With the State seeking to develop necessary infrastructure, the next Assembly session in all probability be held at a new location near Vijayawada.
